For programming line scan cameras and for developing user applications, Schäfter+Kirchhoff supplies a SDK for line scan cameras with GigE- and USB 3.0- interfaces. The SDK for LVDS-interface is applicable up to Windwos 7 (32-bit). The SDK contain the API (DLLs) and the class library Csk for C++. The examples can be used as templates for developing customized user applications.
For cameras with the CameraLink interface the SDK of the grabber manufacturer should be used. All grabbers with CameraLink base configuration are appropriate.
A VI library supports the control of line cameras with GigE and USB 3.0 interfaces under LabVIEW. With a few clicks, a line scan camera application can be built. The VI library requires the appropriate Windows camera driver.
Cameras of the GigE Vision series are fully GigE Vision compliant and will be supported by NI-IMAQdx directly.
The software packages from Schäfter+Kirchhoff include SkLineScan to control and display the functions designed specifically for the line scan cameras. The line scan camera signal is depicted as an oscilloscope display and is identical across all interface systems. Any changes in optical system (focus or aperture) or camera parameters (such as exposure time) are displayed interactively in a graphical plot of signal intensities against line scan pixel. The program allows the rapid start-up and adjustment of a new line scan camera system.
For CameraLink cameras, the adaption of the SkLineScan program to specific grabber boards is possible on request.
